A lotus flower begins growing at the bottom of a muddy, murky pool, and slowly emerges toward the surface, bursting out of the water into a beautiful blossom. During the night the lotus closes and sinks under the water, and miraculously emerges again with the sunlight of a new day, one petal at a time, completely unstained, sparkling clean. Yet, without the mud, there is no lotus. We all have a little murky mud in our lives- hardships, difficulties and obstacles that we’ve faced, right? But we continue to grow towards the surface and unfold into something beautiful.
